As a life long resident for over 50 years on the peninsula, I have been involved in property investing for 30 + years. What sets me apart from many other agents are three very important factors:

Knowledge of the area: I was  born at Community Hospital in Monterey and have lived here on the peninsula my entire lifegiving me an intimate knowledge of this beautiful area.    Being a life-long resident has helped me to identify the market trends and have a better idea of what to expect.  I can also help with providing you with local resources if you are moving here from out of the area.

Negotiating: I was only 8 years old when I started attending garage sales with my mom and Virginia (mom’s best friend and neighbor). I watched and learned how Virginia negotiated at every stop, and successfully resold items with my assistance at a profit. She did it with coolness and confidence. “never negotiate out fear, but never fear to negotiate”
As president of the National Association of Letter Carriers for 20 years, I successfully negotiated grievances, contractual issues and many others that have helped so many. This is why I was re-elected 10 times in a row. Eventually I went back to school and received my BS in Organization Behavior.
Both listening and negotiating skills were also instrumental during my 10 years as a Suicide and Crisis line volunteer. Nothing is more rewarding than helping another person.
These talents have now paid off in real estate as I negotiate million dollar deals to get the best deal possible. I will talk clients out of a sale if I do not think it’s worth it. (must be my upbringing ) I cannot enjoy a commission check if my client isn’t happy.

Listening: After researching what most people disliked about their realtor, “not listening” turned out to be a popular complaint. Many felt that their realtor was not was not paying attention to their requested needs or simply too busy to put in an efficient effort to find what the customer was looking for.

I was fortunate to have studied communication and listening skills for over 25 years, studying under my aunt, Selwa Said, a well-known and much respected teacher in our community. These skills significantly have helped me in fully understanding a clients needs and desires so we are all on the same page.
